Frida Kahlo has always been an inspiration in my life. As a young woman I was alway in love with art and artists. Frida was essentially the first female surrealist painter but she deemed many of her images as portraits. In San Francisco in 2008 at the MOMA I was enamored to walk through her exhibit  (on my honeymoon!) and learn of her heartache, passion and despair. She was a source to be reckon with and I love women with style and a roar. Frida had both. Above my vanity each day I look at Frida’s portrait titled  ”Self-portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird” and feel an inspiration for art, love and loyalty.

Frida is often depicted (in her self-portraits) with a massive uni-brow. But in reality she was beautiful and very stylish. Living in the southwest I find her ability to accessorize inspirational.
