This past weekend I had the distinct pleasure of visiting two of my best friends. Mikaela and New York City. Dedicated to not be swept into the running around the city mentality I spent the weekend in the East Village with Mikala and her friends celebrating her 30th birthday. The city always invigorates me, makes me feel creative and gives me an updated perspective. This particular trip was bitter-sweet as it my first time being away from my baby girl and hubby for pleasure and not work. But we all survived.
The East Village really is an interesting and amazing place. Nothing better than sitting on a patio while having a glass (or several) of wine enjoying the cool New York spring breeze while visiting with old and new friends and watching the city goers pass you by. The diversity in style and languages always astounds me. You see gritty hard-core NY’ers you would never mess with, people who wear NY Yankees gear to a new level, European travelers in pastel and the never-ending amount of stylish hipsters and socialites that no other city can provide other than New York.
We enjoyed stuffing ourselves with great food, wine and cocktails. Surrounded by laughter and celebration and of course. I loved celebrating with Mikaela for the weekend all while visting one of my oldest friends New York.
